Overview

Surgery is common treatment option for many types of cancers. A surgeon will use it to treat solid tumour cancers, by removing the cancer and surrounding tissue from the body.

Sometimes it may be the only treatment needed, but often you will have other types of treatment as well. Surgery is usually used for solid tumours that are the only part of your body with cancer. It is not used for leukaemia (a type of blood cancer) or for cancers that have spread.

OncoCare has colorectal surgeons who perform surgery for colorectal cancer at our OncoCare Specialist Centre. Please visit our website for more information about our experienced surgeons and centre locations.
