Treatment for liver cancer depends on the type that you have, and your age, medical history and treatment preferences.

Options include:

Surgery

which may involve removing part of the liver or a liver transplant.

Radiation therapy

uses high-energy x-rays to target and destroy cancer cells.

Chemotherapy

involves the use of anti-cancer drugs which are taken orally (by mouth) or injected into the body.

Targeted therapies

focuses specifically on treating the patients’ type of cancer, with a focus on targeting cancer cells, and not healthy cells.
